“Saturday Swap” = Character Study Exploration

 No Advance Audition Required

Do an in-depth character study and learn to bring your character to life, then switch places with other characters to learn what it is like to “walk in their shoes”.  Learn to appreciate & understand different personalities and character qualities in others.  This will be a magical switching good time as we create an original story around the characters that each class members chooses and get approved in advance.  Each person will provide their own costume. Building a character!

(ages 8-12)

  (5th-8th grade - 4:30 - 5:30)

Learn how to develop a character through the use of monologues and small scenes. The first week each student will get a monologue and we will work on the basics of developing their character and situation (who are they talking to, why are they saying this, etc.) and they will learn how to make acting choices based on that information. In the second week we will take a similar approach but with short, two person scenes. The goal is to give children skills that will help them with any future productions that they may be a part of.

Enter into the world of make-believe, a place where toys learn to be good toys... at Toy Camp. Ted E. Bear, Princess Ann, Glow Toy, and others have come to Toy Camp to hopefully graduate and earn their price tags to be sold at toy stores. Not graduating from Toy Camp means certain doom at the Toy Dump! During their week at camp, our friends learn lessons in paying attention and practicing, overcoming both their fears and their weaknesses. With a subtle moral about liking yourself and having confidence if you want to be loved by others, each toy realizes that it is good at something. This award-winning, lighthearted show will have your audiences tapping their toes to a variety of fun to sing tunes.
