This class is perfect for both kids who are shy and those who are not so shy to get out of their comfort zone and build their confidence and skills through improv.

Building a character!

(ages 8-12)

cHARACTER dEVELOPMENT

April 19, 22, 26, 29

(2 week -, Mon&Thurs)  4:30-5:30

  (5th-8th grade - 4:30 - 5:30)

Taught by Alex Luxenburg

Learn how to develop a character through the use of monologues and small scenes. The first week each student will get a monologue and we will work on the basics of developing their character and situation (who are they talking to, why are they saying this, etc.) and they will learn how to make acting choices based on that information. In the second week we will take a similar approach but with short, two person scenes. The goal is to give children skills that will help them with any future productions that they may be a part of.

summer drama WORKSHOP

BIG BAD

(ages 7-12)

JULY 19-24 , 2021

(1 WEEK - Mon - Sat)

10:00am - 1:00pm

Taught by Alex Luxenburg

Big Bad provides actors and audiences of any age with a smart and wickedly funny play that lets the audience determine the outcome of the play!  The most notorious criminal in the fairy-tale world, Big Bad Wolf, is being slapped with a class-action lawsuit by the countless quirky characters he has wronged.  Now, the two greatest legal minds in the Enchanted Forest — the Evil Stepmother and the Fairy Godmother — will clash (on live Court TV, no less, with Sydney Grimm as commentator!)  in a trial that will be remembered forever after.

This week-long workshop will give children the experience of many aspects of theatre including learning theatre terms, blocking, memorizing lines, building character, working with costumes, microphones, and lights, and working as a team with fellow cast members to put on a show. It will be a fun learning experience.

Not graduating from Toy Camp means certain doom at the Toy Dump! During their week at camp, our friends learn lessons in paying attention and practicing, overcoming both their fears and their weaknesses. With a subtle moral about liking yourself and having confidence if you want to be loved by others, each toy realizes that it is good at something. This award-winning, lighthearted show will have your audiences tapping their toes to a variety of fun to sing tunes.
